YOUR FIRST CONSULTATION
Your first appointment with Life For You Dietitians runs between 60-90 minutes. This way we can really work together and gather all important information about you:
-your medical history,
-eating patterns,
-medications/supplements you may be taking,
-anything else relevant to your health, nutrition and specific goals.
This will assist us in tailoring the recommendations that you will be given towards the end of the session.
WHAT ABOUT WEIGHT?
Discussing weight concerns are optional at Life For You Dietitians. We believe that optimal nutrition and health does not equate to the number on the scale. Our approach is gentle, sensitive and understanding. You will never feel judged.
- We can however work with you to discuss any weight concerns, weight loss or gain goals and changes in your life.
- We work with eating disorders to help individuals overcome their fear foods, trust themselves with eating enough, reduce the binge/purge cycle, overeating and support individuals that are in a place of any stage of change (pre-contemplation, contemplation and action stage of recovery) to restore a healthy weight or relationship with food.
GOAL SETTING
Once we know a little about you, we will discuss your goals and challenges.
Whether that be to reduce bloating and abdominal pain everyday to just 3 times per week, weight gain/loss over time, improve sports performance or improving your energy levels.
RECOMMENDATIONS
This is where we really make a change in your life. We work with you to support your goals from the information provided from the initial consultation and, provide you with practical recommendations and combine these into a plan that is constructed together. You may be provided with extra materials such as resources, recipes and a meal plan if this assists you.
REVIEW CONSULTATIONS
This follow up consultation is important to help you achieve your health goals. Life For You Dietitians will go through the last consultation goals that we set, provide practical recommendations for the challenges that you faced with our initial consultation and set new goals. It is a good idea to bring along any new blood test results and a three day food diary.
